young and healthy people are not at risk:
if infected with covid-19, older persons and those with chronic illnesses are more at risk of death, although young people may still get infected. young individuals are more prone to get infected than elderly persons in certain situations. furthermore, even if a young person does not have a chronic condition, their illness may be serious enough to need hospitalization, and covid-19's long-term effects may be found over time.
the virus can be transmitted by children:
because children do not experience covid-19 symptoms as often as adults, it was unclear how important children were in the virus's transmission at the onset of the pandemic. a research published in science that included 85,000 individuals and 600,000 of their connections in India has now shown clearly that children of all ages may get sick and transmit the disease to others.
many people should be able to work from home:
many individuals discovered that they could work from home at this period. once the viral epidemic has passed, speak with your employer about the possibility of working from home if required. a certain amount of work can be done remotely in almost all professions. even if the virus isn't present, a structure that promotes work-life balance should be in place.
cooking is something that everyone should be able to do:
many individuals have been compelled to learn, re-learn, or re-ignite their passion for cooking as a result of staying at home. one of the most essential talents a person may have is the ability to cook. you are only responsible for yourself. it teaches you how to be self-sufficient and saves you a lot of money. hundreds of individuals are posting pictures of their great meals on social media these days. they're rediscovering the joys of cooking at home. knowing precisely what is in your food and experiencing the sense of accomplishment that comes from fully preparing a meal on your own.
the greatest medicine of all may be family:
we now know that if you can't physically embrace your 18-month-old grandchild, you can read to her via facetime. you may send snail mail to your adult children. even from afar, you may offer your life's knowledge. these coping abilities may be one of covid's greatest gifts to an older population that, understandably, fears solitude.
spend less time travelling and more time staying:
are you tired of waiting in traffic on your way to and from work? can't bear the thought of travelling across the nation for a single meeting? getting rid of these annoyances with an internet connection and zoom calls may be the motivation you need to work longer. according to Allen, people often leave employment due to minor irritations. “The things that tire you down may be falling by the wayside now,” he says.
misinformation and fake news can be dangerous:
fake news, particularly on social media platforms, has the potential to undercut scientific guidance and impede public health efforts to combat the covid-19 virus's spread. for example, disinformation has circulated that the epidemic is a fake or that it is not as severe as governments claim. this may lead to individuals refusing to wear face masks, maintain physical distance, or take other precautions recommended by their governments.
every day, we learn and continue to learn the following lessons:
humans are very sophisticated creatures that spend their whole lives learning. but why should we wait for something terrible to happen before we learn to appreciate what we have? why can't we enjoy the little pleasures that bring us joy?
Throughout my life, I never had the opportunity to take a step back and reflect on the events that had taken place. In many respects, I was dissatisfied with my surroundings, and I placed an excessive amount of importance on a lot of things that were not really essential. To my surprise, both the fact that rain makes me happy and the fact that the coffee I drink on my balcony tastes better than the coffee I drink at a café came as a pleasant surprise.
In recent years, I've come to realize that reading literature makes me happy. Exercising at home is more beneficial than going to the gym, and playing games at home, such as monopoly, was not a terrible idea, either. In my research, I discovered that I had strong humanitarian instincts and a strong sense of empathy, which is something I am very proud of.
